one mis-heard call and other recent events

Reading: “Atonement” by Ian McEwan (I decided to continue, or else I might not finish at all)

Work In Progress: “Nikki/Jessica” from HEROES (oh, yes finally, I was able to draw something after such a long time)

Last night (technically at about 1:00 in the morning) I got a call from an ESL (“teaching english as a second-language”, I posted a lot of ads on numerous ESL sites – hoping to get hired in Japan or Korea) Recruiter. It has something to do with teaching “disabled children” ages 6-12 either in Osaka, Japan or Boston, USA. At least I was able to get that, as the line was really bad. I can barely hear what he was saying. It’s like talking to someone from the end of a very long tunnel. In any case, I don’t think I’m up to teaching disabled young kids, I’d prefer High School/Middle School or Adult students.

I’ve got several applications as well. I really want the London Hotel (I applied as a CSR, Computer Operator or House Keeping, and even Dish Washer; whichever is currently open) to work out. The place, according to my bit of research is quite “strategic”, it’s near major attractions like The Victoria and Albert Museum, The Kensington Palace, Harrods, Madame Tussaud’s,Trafalgar Square and The Buckingham Palace, I’ll have loads of places to visit if ever I get hired. It seems I might be getting somewhere, the application forms just arrived. Another good thing is, they’re paying for my VISA and air-fare. I’m keeping my fingers crossed. :)

On the local scene, I’m still waiting for Card Bank’s reply (my friend and I personally passed the papers in their office last week). If things don’t work out, I decided to apply as an Online English Teacher in Makati again. Although I’d rather work in my hometown for the time being.
